You would be right, of course, but that definition doesn't mean anything unless you have some knowledge of what calculus is. Let's keep it simple, shall we? Calculus is a conceptual framework which provides systematic techniques for solving problems. These problems are appropriately applicable to analytic geometry and algebra. Therefore....precalculus gives you the background for the mathematical concepts, problems, issues and techniques that appear in calculus, including trigonometry, functions, complex numbers, vectors, matrices, and others. There you have it ladies and gentlemen....an introduction to precalculus! About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. This calculus video tutorial provides a basic introduction into converging and diverging sequences using limits. It explains how to write out the first four terms of a sequence and how to determine if a sequence converges or diverges by finding the limit of a sequence. If the limit exists and it equals to some constant L as n approaches infinity, then the sequence converges. If the limit does not exist or increases or decreases without bound, that is, to positive or negative infinity - then the sequence diverges. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems of determining if a sequence is convergent or divergent using Lhopital's rule, the squeeze theorem, and properties of logarithms. It contains example problems with trigonometric functions such as sine and cosine, natural logarithms, square root functions, factorials, and exponential functions. More Lessons: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 In this lesson, you will learn what a sequence is in math, why they are important, and how sequences are used. We will also learn about two of the most important mathematical sequences, the Arithmetic Sequence and the Geometric Sequence. The Arithmetic sequence is a listing of numbers where the terms of the sequence differ by a common difference. The terms of a geometric sequence, by contrast, differ by a common ratio. Because of this, we can predict the terms of an arithmetic sequence by simply adding or subtracting a constant between terms. We can predict the terms of a geometric sequence by simply multiplying adjacent terms by a constant.
This algebra video tutorial explains how to find the nth term of an arithmetic sequence. You need the value of the first term and the common difference in order to calculate the value of the nth term.
